Team DeJong rocked the house at Cottonwood this past weekend, fielding SIX karts for the Mid America Speedway Nationals!

Day 1 - Saturday - Caymen and Michael were entered in the Chasin Racin class finishing a 3rd and 4th consecuatively.

Joel ran stock Medium but struggled due to some poor setup choices made by Matt.

Matt won the Senior Stock event by half a lap!

Justin Waller and Matt teamed up in the clone class running the Phenoms. It was probably the best race of the day as Waller started on the pole and Matt started 14th. Matt slowly picked off karts with five laps to go behind Waller who was leading. The two teammates hooked up and pushed out from the rest of the pack finishing 1 (Waller) and 2 (Matt DeJong).

Day 2 - Sunday was much better. The boys improved dramtically. Caymen finished 3rd and Michael 4th coming from the tail. Both boys dropped 4 tenths off their laps times and most importantly drove near perfect lines, some that the adults should be jealous of or at least learned from these little guys.

Joel was hooked up and hauling the mail in animal medium, but 3 yellow flags and wrecks in front of him prevented him from a good finish.

We all very much enjoyed Cottonwood and look forward to coming back!
